Haiku #3

Young lives flounder fast
In the concrete buttercup*
So they rose up: fools!

  1. Nice and quirky this one. ‘concrete buttercup’ is a new one! I have heard of concrete jungle obviously, but buttercup is interesting!

I do like the line ‘so they rose up: fools!’ – I like it more and more every time I read it. It reminds me of Terry Pratchett’s book ‘Night watch’ where there is a song with the lines = ‘See how they rise up’. If you haven’t read the book and enjoy a good laugh and intelligent wit, then Terry Pratchett is awesome, and that song in that book is really catchy! (I know that you will be humming or singing it yourself when you read it!)

Anyway, digression aside, yes – good haiku! Keep it up 🙂

I would love to hear your views...
