Wow!

Yesterday, my day was about the end of something -my current job – and my evening was a beginning, of sorts: I was nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award by http://crashandbern.wordpress.com. My thanks to Bern Davis and of course, Willie the dog!

I started this blog mainly to help me focus on a creative writing course I was doing and to get feedback from fellow students. The course has ended but the blog hasn’t. Now I do it simply because I enjoy it. I love reading what other people have to say – there are so many interesting blogs out there – and I have been lucky that other bloggers have taken the time to read or comment on what I’ve written so far.

So, there are some things I have to do now. Here’s the first one:

1. The blogs that make me smile, force me to think or simply stimulate my grey cells are as follows:

http://persephonewrites.wordpress.com – Journeying towards a literary life
http://diane-owens.com – In my opinion
http://emilyjanuary.wordpress.com – Life, Lessons and Literature
http://plantainperiodicals.wordpress.com – Life, Love and Plantain!
http://asturiandiary.wordpress.com – Life between the Mountains and the Sea
http://70degreeswest-explore.com – A fantastic journey
http://unpackedwriter.com – Translating moments that matter
http://nhwn.wordpress.com – Live to Write – Write to Live
http://malouprestado.com – Going Dutch
http://francescannotwrite.wordpress.com – Yes, she can!
http://breathelighter.wordpress.com – An eclectic look at well-being
http://wheresmytbackandotherstories.wordpress.com – About ageing & stuff
http://london2melbourne.wordpress.com – All about life down-under

and the second:

2. Seven things about me.
– To do lists make me feel safe
– I don’t eat bananas
– My favourite author is Robertson Davies
– I love cats, but not dogs
– I have visited over 30 countries
– I wear a sarong when I’m at home
– I drink (far too much) strong black coffee.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Thanks so much for the mention, Sally. Very nice. I am so impressed with your travel experience. I have never really ventured very far, so I am always intrigued with those who do. And I can’t help but agree with you about the blogging community. When I first started a year ago I was simply curious. I didn’t have anything in mind and because I knew so little about social media I didn’t envision anyone reading my posts beyond the borders of a few friends and my family. It has been the nicest of surprises! I am so glad to have included you in those I read and enjoy, too. It will be interesting to see where you go next! Congratulations on the award 🙂 Debra

  2. Congratulations! So did you start blogging just last year then? That’s a great achievement, well done 🙂

  3. I’m glad I started following your blog before you got the nomination. Now I feel positively perceptive! Congratulations.

  4. wow, congrats; and thank you for the shout out!

I would love to hear your views...
